To me, it makes no sense to ship without the flattener.
We've got no evidence/indication of a change of supplied accessories or price. All we have is 3 data points of IIS members who have bought them recently...myself and Rob, who got the flattener, Lee who didn't
and SW seemed to concede it was a mistake and will ship one out. Sounds like Lee got a package that got shipped here instead of Europe...
