I sometimes go to Thornleigh Macs I think where head office resides.
You see all the young mac marketing execs running around all very smart and professional.
I can imagine their meetings where to survive I suspect one needs to come up with new marketing ideas.
Forget in that environment pleasing the customer as at that level it is about new ideas as to how to sell burgers such that the franchise benefits.
I can imagine the pressure to put compete your fellow marketing execs.
I propose that it is such an environment that allows crazy ideas to get air.
Expanding the product line and introducing new systems I suggest comes from here.
The goal of any business should be to increase profit. At the individual shop level it must be a nightmare having to accommodate the latest marketing fad.
The individual shop owners have no say as to any new fad from head office each of which erode profit.
I can see why seats may not be replaced or less funding to cleaning staff when you have to retool to meet the latest fad...the screen menu must have cost heaps increasing capital cost as well as labour. Whose dumb idea was it to give table service as the design yourself burger is delivered to the customer st their table.
I was in a franchise for a very short time and have experienced a head office introducing a new (totally inappropriate idea for my location) marketing campaign that I would have to shell out a levy in addition to 10 percent of my turnover for the priveledge of being in their most wonderful group.
That was in real estate.
I got out ran as an independent and was always ahead of my competition because I could implement marketing ideas for my location which were better and had no levy
