Thanks Luis! If you stack in DSS like a lot of us do, then you need to put the colour back in that DSS has sucked out. I use a lot of curve stretches in Photoshop and that sucks out even more colour. To compensate I wind up the vibrance and saturation sliders until noise becomes a problem and then back off a bit (in image / adjustments / vibrance). How much to put back in is subjective. I like fairly strong colour.
Another way is noiseless colour for photoshop as described in the video, or use a combination of both. Be careful of colour gradients when doing this.
I often flat field and balance the background colour with the "image / apply image" technique after.
