Pack and Send.

It'll probably cost about $600 insured but it will arrive quickly and in good condition. That includes the packaging. I shipped my TEC180 (was about $980) overseas with them and an AP140 (was about $650) and TEC110 to Brisbane no problem.
Insurance was slightly negotiable they start at 3.5% of value and will got to 3% if you ask. I don't think Aust Post will insure for these larger amounts.
Take lots of photos of the scope, case and packaging.

I would not try to economise on a US$13,000 scope that has a waiting list.
