Billi - just point yourself to HA, register your location via map app and check out ISS predictions. This info will tell you exactly where, when and in what direction things will be happening.

Bright (mag -2 or less), direct (>65 degrees) overhead passes are the visually best (you only need your eyes!).

Also look at Iridium flare (Google it) predictions at HA.

Events better than mag -3 are quite spectacular, if in darkened skies.

But note that these are very localised - the flare only subtends 10-20 Km in diameter at Earth's surface.
