I've doing some research on filters..you may want to have a peek at
www.lumicon.com/filterspec_prnt.htm
They have a list of objects with the filter types for viewing and photography.
They reccomend for,-
Diffuse Nebulae, OIII (light polluted sky), Deep sky, UHC (dark sky) for viewing
and use a Deep Sky filter for photography.
