Thanks, but that's not what is going on in the image. The colours are not "real" as such and are simply mapped intensity functions.
The turbulence induced form the jet efflux is however very real.
Air is being strongly heated hence solar light is being refracted near the limb. This turbulence varies in intensity...which is shown in the image as various shades of red.
