Pentax Glass on a Canon digital

I would like to get an adapter to allow me to use the old Pentax primes on my 20d, as far as I can tell it should be for the M42 screw type mount - is this correct? Any particular source for such things you would care to recommend? Which lenses can/cannot be used - are there are some that will not focus to infinity for example or can I assume if it fits it will work? I know some lenses have automatic appature closure - these will end up wide open unless the relevant lever is actuated (I guess that could be taped/glued/removed?).
Seems like a good way to get reasonable quality glass for fewer $$$. Anything else I need to know?
