Thanks Stefan. Yes, I tried to get out a few nights earlier, but by the time I got going there was a fair bit of cloud/fog around.
I had a look at your shot from a few days ago - great looking image - and saw your comment about Trevor's data re the C ring.
I have not seen his shot, but I've attached a crop of my R channel data showing some brightening of this area about 1/3 the way across & a darker 'ring' closer to the B ring...probably an artifact of my processing?

I just found this.
Very interesting, I can't see the spots on my monitor but I can see the bright and dark ring detail within C and I don't think it is processing artefact. It is very similar to what is on my image.
