One other thing as far as warrenty goes , it can be just as hard to get warrenty here in Australia if you don't know your rights.

As far as for an item like the EQ6 the main thing that is going to go wrong is the hand pad or motors both of which are simple and light weight enough to be returned. I realize this does not apply to all scope gear but you have to weigh it up do your sums for the what ifs and research the company selling the gear .
Cheap items are not going to be worth it when it comes to importing as the savings won't be justifyable.
