If you want to, you can purchase an FTDI USB to 3.3V TTL cable, slap an RJ45 plug on it and use it with EQMOD to bypass the handset. Very clean looking direct connection cable. The AZ-EQ6 is 3.3V TTL, but it's 5V tolerant so you can also use a 5V TTL cable like you might use with an old EQ6, just with a different connector.
