Esp8266

I picked up some ESP 8266 WIFI units. They are 8 bucks apiece. Use an AT command set so no library required to integrate them to your system. Now I don't need an arduino to go with my 4-d systems touch panel. The 8266 will wire up directly to the display serial port and provide wifi. They were fairly easy to hook up once I found some docs on them. Fairly new piece so not a lot out there on them yet. They do require a lot of 3.3v at certain times. 300mah I think this is just when its first connecting then it drops back. They are 3.3v serial as well so you will probably need a level converter. I used the Sparkfun BOB 12009 which is 3 bucks. So for under 10 bucks you can get this set-up going. Very small footprint. Not much bigger than a postage stamp.
