Terrific image Chris, I prefer the first version personally.
There is some slight misregistration of the red channel as seen in the upper right stars and also green showing in some green in the bright stars' halos. Also excess green or perhaps a gradient at the bottom of the image there.
Pixinsight SCNR filter or the free Photoshop HLVG plus in will handle that.
Amazing detail there. The tracking and guiding must have been spot on.
