Hi Houghy,

The mount is a German equatorial "Goliath" purchased new in 1980 from Astro-Optical supplies. It has 2" solid shaft on both axis. I purchased a 14" Thomas Matthis RA drive which is very accurate in the early 1980's, Got advice from a well known Queensland astronomer Jim Barclay. The dec has a 2 foot motorized tangent arm. The mount is not computerised but tracks very well and is very stable.
