Hi Paul,

1. All my shots are through my Celestron C11 with a Focal reducer to reduce it down from F10 to F6.3.
2. All done with a Unmodded Canon 1000D, Moon ISO400 1 sec, the rest is ISO1600 1 minute exposures.
3. Southern Pinwheel 60 x 1 minute then stacked with DSS, Keyhole Nebular 20 x 1 Minute, and Omega Centauri 10 x 1minute.
4. I take 10 Darks , 10 x Flats , 10 x Offsets.
5. One other Comment: I have just started using "dither" to help reduce the noise, and it is well worth it. I use Backyard EOS software with an orion autoquider.

After stacking in DSS, I drag the resulting Picture into Photoshop, then the fun begins:

1. I reduce the result from it to 32 Bit to 16 Bit.
2. Crop the edge to remove DSS stacking artifact:
3. Open Levels and bring the black slider up to the beginning of the histogram.
4. Select all areas other than the main object, then run gradient exterminator.
5. Do about 4 or 5 or "gentle" adjustments in Curves.
6. Then sometimes a final adjustment with levels.

As you can see I'm a beginner, nowhere in the same league as some of the more advanced members in this forum.

Cheers
Peter
