I think the Bintel DSLR clip in filter would be the better option for my set up but having read the description on the site I'm not sure if it's just designed for wide field or not. Any ideas?
Thanks again, appreciate it.

G'day Steve,

Sharpless 308 will be a tough target with a dslr I think you'll definitely need a filter and dark skies to make a go of it. There have been some awesome ones posted in the deep sky section over the past year here (Marco, Mike&Trish and atleast one other fantastic version).

I've got a clip in as a wide UV/IR cut and I have just received my slide draw for narrowband (although the 2" version).

I'm fairly certain they are fine for widefield (which part of the webpage gave you that impression?), the main issue with the clip in is they don't work with EF-S mount lenses (if you were looking at using a camera lens) - although EF mounts work.

The other disadvantage is that the if you wanted narrower than 12nm you can't obtain them. They are also a bit fiddly getting them in and out. Or down the track you purchase a CCD or full frame camera you've invested a lot of money in filters that you need to sell on (that's the main reason why I went for a draw - and to get slightly narrower than 12nm).

Before deciding on the filter draw I recommend emailing the TS to confirm connections etc will work with your flattener.

If you were looking for the Ha clip on bintel its in the wrong section on the webpage http://www.bintel.com.au/Accessories...oductview.aspx

Cheers

Russ
