I am offering my third-hand Celestron NexStar SLT 130 (5" f/5 computerised Go-to Newtonian x 650 mm focal length) for sale here - if I get no bites within a couple of days, I'll put it up on Gumtree instead. This would be a great first telescope for any first-time astronomers, or your children or grandchildren. (It got me back into backyard Astronomy after a hiatus of about 30 years, but it is time for it to inspire someone else.)

I bought it used about a year ago, and it was already second-hand then, so I don't know when it was first purchased. I believe the 130 SLT came out in about 2005, so there's a good chance it's up to 10 years old. It was pretty dusty on the outside when I bought it, but clean on you inside, and it cleaned up pretty well. The mirrors are both clean, and it is well collimated, and holds collimation very well.

I have since beefed up the tripod, so it's more sturdy than the original. The Go-to mount works fine on both 8 x AA batteries, or via a 12 volt external supply, and tracks very well. The PC serial interface works for updating or remote control. I have recently updated the handset software and motor control firmware to the latest versions.
