It is an area which is naturely red, especialy if you are ueing a sensor that can pick up Ha. I don't know anything about your camera but to me it looks over-exposed for the brightness of that object. - a common problem whn chasing neb cloud detail. I'd be suggesting using a neb filter instead of a LP filter. What ISO was used. I fill pm you a link to my Astrobin photo of the same area.
