You've raised the contrast and 'clipped' the greys out making the sky black so that the stars stand out more.
The sky isn't really black.
My avatar is omega c and it has a softer look but more stars because it isn't so drastically manipulated.
This is the pic it came from.
It's not a very good pic because it was taken on a wobbly wedge on a skinny pier.
