I leave the camera white balance in auto mode and fix it (more or less, see my recent threads on the subject!) in post processing.
The modded camera looks the same hue as what I see with mine now it's been modded. Everything looks read, so I use more or less the same technique in post processing to bring the red green and blue channels more into line.
