Potential bright supernova in NGC 2442 (The Meathook)

Just a heads up. A type Ia supernova has been discovered in NGC 2442, 'The Meathook' in Volans. The galaxy is low redshift (z = 0.005) and is well placed currently culminating around 9.30pm.

The supernova was classified as 11 days from peak luminosity on 9th March 2015, so should reach it's peak around 20th Mar. Given the reported distance modulus of the galaxy, the supernova should peak slightly brighter than magnitude 12.
