Smoking Man

Hi All,

Inspired by Andy's rendition of this object.

Over the past few months we have been blessed with many clear nights, unfortunately my camera has been in repair. It arrived back last Friday and during the week I acquired the data for this image. This is part of the extended region around the Eta Carina nebula. It is recorded in narrowband, so the colours represent different atoms, Red for Sulphur, Green for Hydrogen and Blue for Oxygen. I have tweaked the colours as the Hydrogen emissions would overpower the other two, and I think it looks nicer this way. This is a combination of 89 x 10 minute sub exposures for a total of almost 15 hours total exposure.

Share and Enjoy!

Cheers
