Russell, the 8x60s would give you a massive 7.5mm exit pupil - are you sure you're going to be able to take advantage of that at night?
(if not, you'll be reducing the effective aperture, e.g. if your pupil only expands to 6mm, then they'll be working like an 8x48 pair).
