I'm completely new to this so probably not the best person to answer, but I've just bought the same system and started to use it with SGP. I had the same experience when I was first testing it with only the focus motor set up. Once the camera and filter wheel were connected it was all fine. First successful auto focus sequence last night. I have the wifi add on though and I'm having trouble getting the laptop to recognise that.
