The 2x converter is good for these small but brighter objects where 5 mins or less at F11.2 suffice
With the off axis guider I use a 2.8x barlow, and a 12 mm eyepiece with illuminated recticle, that normally gives me enough magnification to guide ok with a suitable guidestar.
