In my opinion, they are too flimsy for that price.

Is there anything else ? Do you use something else, like a step ladder ?

To be honest, I find a need for a chair to be only mild. I am not sitting while changing and manipulating eyepieces. Then I focus onto a planet or constellation, marvel at it for few seconds, and move on to the next item on my agenda. What am I doing wrong ?
I have a Bintel chair and it is solid as a rock and very useful. Yes a bit exxy but does the job it is supposed to do. Only issue I have had is being black I have tripped over it a couple of times in the dark (doesn't help that i was born clumsy!!)
