another denver chair

I decided to make a denver chair with some spare wood about the place. Even so it still cost me approx $35 in hardware.

I did deviate from the plans in that I made the seat platform wider and deeper to accommodate my larger frame. Because of this I somehow ended up with seat supports that are slightly different in measurements than the plans, not good when the plans say it is critical to be exact.

However, the seat seems to function fine albeit it is a bit tippy at lower height settings, i.e. leaning forwards the back comes off the ground. Disconcerting but still stable.

Is this normal for the design? Should I make the uprights longer? (Could do with a back rest at higher settings!)
