While it's a relatively new idea, the idea of the "Grand Tack" hypothesis
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grand_Tack_Hypothesis as presented on this show is quickly becoming pretty main-stream, as it is the best idea yet that explains the distribution of the planets (rocky planets, gas giants, ice giants, and the asteroid belt and Kuiper Belt objects) that we see in our solar system toady.
I first came across the idea last year in a Coursera course "The Science of the Solar System"
https://class.coursera.org/solarsystem-001 given by "Pluto-Killer" Mike Brown, and while it seems crazy that Jupiter went wandering around the inner Solar System in the first few million years, before the other planets had fully formed, it is actually pretty convincing.
