The 1600 cc Lotus twin overhead cam engine was basically a racing engine, close ratio gearbox, larger brakes, wider track, updated suspension, there was nothing in common with the standard model.
My Twin Cam had a history, the spouses of all previous owners had crashed the car, my experience was no different, my leadfoot ex wife managed to spin out on a dead straight gravel road, breaking her wrist in the effort.
