Road bike, Mountain bike or an "inbetweener" Hans?
I use Continental GrandPrix 4000S in 700x23 on my road bike, so far I have had no punctures in about 3500 klms of road & bike path use.
On my mountain bike I use Maxxis Ignitors and have had no punctures in 5 years, mostly ridden on broken rock surface of Snowy Mountains trails.
The most important thing is to have them inflated correctly, I run 100psi front & 110psi rear on my road bike. 45 front / 50 rear on my mtb.
'Pinch flats' are common on mountain bikes with under inflated tyres.
