Yes the Mini had a long run from 1959 until 2000 in the UK, they stopped in 1978 in Australia thanks to a poorly run British Leyland which sucked the life out of the more profitable Australian operation. Over 5 million made world wide.
You can still buy parts easily, in fact you can build a complete Mini from new parts available.
