Jupiter animation - Red Jnr chasing the GRS

Hello,

After almost trashing my 101 avi’s from 4th May, due to the poor quality and seeing of the first few frames of each avi, I saw a post by RobertT where he had stacked between 150 and 300 frames, with excellent results, something which I had never done, usually having stacked 600+. Anyhow, I revisited the avi’s and scrolled through them and was pleasantly surprised to discover that instead of 5 or 6 good ones, I had some reasonable data in 70 of them! Anyhow, to cut a long story short, I managed to get 74 frames and made them into a Movie.

Equipment:
Celestron C9.25, Televue x2.5 Powermate
Philips ToUcam 840K

Details:
4th / 5th May 2006
21:14pm (55 deg) to 00:07am (73 deg) AEST (GMT+10)

Capture:
K3CCDTools, 10fps, 1/25 sec, 90 sec captures at 2 minute intervals.
Brightness 50%
Gamma 00
Gain 20%

Processing:
The 74 Avi’s were individually processed in Registax with Wavelets 1=30. Output as bmp’s.
Stack size varied from 115 to 500+ frames.
BMP’s were auto planetary aligned and cropped to 420 x 220 in ImagesPlus.
All 74 bmp’s were then animated as an avi in K3CCDTools.
The final avi was then converted to an animated gif in “Advanced Gif Animator”.

Cheers

Dennis

PS – Thanks again Mike for your generous hosting of this animation.
PPS – Thanks RobertT for the inspiration to carry on stacking!
