Hi,
Just a thought...

That particular red LED may be a "Flasher" & not able to be "disabled", err, stop flashing.

But it could be exchanged for a "regular" red LED, if you can open it up without damaging it.
Probably take about 15 mins or so for the whole operation, depending on
how the unit is put together..
