Could the intermittent trails, that people have noted, be planes dumping fuel prior to landing which I understand is quite common?
I could understand the US and China trying to mitigate climate change by these methods - their politicians seem somewhat concerned about climate change - but I'm not entirely sure that our current government shares these views (pretty sure that they wanted to get rid of a certain group called the Climate Change Commission
) so the idea of Mr Abbott and Co. spending millions on such a scheme would seem a tad far fetched
