Yeah, I remember when many of the top RCOS deep sky images had Christmas bobble like stars and many loved'em, then minimising the stars became more popular, oh and then there was noise reduction

...it became normal at one stage to have an image look like it was made of plastic, particularly ones taken with the first DSLR's like the 300D
Imaging processing fashions...come and go... and then make a resurgence
