Quite impressed with the motor and Japanese quality.

1999 Nissan Navara. The motor has no oil leaks and from one service to the next the oil level remains the same.

I do my own services.
A mechanic said, " You never push that motor!"
Well I suppose he is correct. I look after it and it responds well.

I placed the red towel as a light shield to obtain a clearer image.

Japanese motors after often 'bullet proof'. The company ute was a Toyota Hilux and that vehicle got hammered and had been around the clock twice (bearing in mind the clock only went to 99,999 before ticking back to 0), without much maintenance.

When I saw the episode on Top Gear about the Hilux ute, and although I am usually sceptical about such things, I wasn't surprised it took such a hammering.

Not sure I can say the same thing about Jap cars now though, as there is just too much technology to be so tough.

Cheers Peter
