Here is a comet for you from last night Chris. C/2012 K1 (PanSTARRS). Taken during full moon with the 8" so it's a bit muted. I think it was about 18 x 30 seconds with an Astronomik CLS filter stacked on comet with DSS.
Don't underestimate a good 6" F5 Cam. Forget the figures, in reality there's really not much difference between them, and F5 is better in many ways. I'm thinking I should have went for the 8" F5 version. Well, it was an experiment. In the end I want both anyway! Hey they're cheap as chips these Chinese newts so why not.
