PS: Hi, I've got the CEM60 too!
Hello: my cem60 is carrying my AT80 apo with a 50mm Meade finder/guider
on it. it's mounted on my concrete pier in my 10X10 obs.
and on the first few nights I wanted to start polar aligning it and using
the Sky X, polar scope, and found that the tracking rate at "sidereal" is too fast
to the west so I needed to use "lunar" to make it quicker to the east.
pps I still need to update the firmware. it still has 8407+ HC 140630
and Main: 140720
so I need the 140825v newer one
then on my finder/guider using a qhy5 ccd for guide with the 50mm PhD2
said the star hadn't moved enough in RA so we upped my calibration steps.
So now finally I'm really guiding, but we found that it actually functions
better with guiding off then gets wild according to graph in PhD2 when guiding
So Terry Hancock and I figure that I need to do 3 things: Get a better
polar alignment using "offset", 2. upgrade the firmware. and 3. increase my
guide rate from .5x to .8x sidereal to reduce the guiding
fluctuation/agressiveness.
pps: any tutorials on using "offset" to polar align this (cem60) mount?
And by the way, yes this is really the same guy who used to have a Meade
LX200gps 10" F10. well I still have that scope, and wonder should I
defork it and put it on this cem60 mount?
Thankx
xoxo love you all
David
