For a C8 you would be way better off grabbing Clancy Lane's HEQ5 for $650 in the classifieds , that is a way better mount for this sized scope .
This is not to say the EQ5 is a bad mount , far from it as these are great for say a C6 or up to 4 inch refractor .
By the way you wont go wrong with a C8 in the future , great scopes .
