I was just looking at e-go.com.au for shipping - it seems their rates are cheap but if you want insurance/indemnity against loss or damage, that they do not accept any claims for loss of any item containing glass since they classify this as dangerous goods. Check their indemnity terms section 7 (6) (d) - so for mounts, this could be quite ok, unless of course the tripod has a bubble level made of glass
