Ascorbic Acid crystals under polarized light
A microscope image of Ascorbic acid which is a major constituent of Vitamin C tablets.
The crystals were dissolved in water and allowed to recrystallize between two polarizing filters which is used ordinarily for planetary imaging.
The microscope was interfaced to a Pentax K-r.
