You bring up a interesting point: if you don't have access to a decent sky, maybe go somewhere more open both to the sky AND passers by. I might look into making my front yard a viewing site. I'll either be called a Devil worshipper for changing Moon to blood red, or inspire them. This is one thing I need to run past SWMBO...

I live in Maroubra too. I'll look into the timing of the eclipse event and maybe try to get my neighbours to get together. I'd do it in my front yard/driveway. I could have a visual scope set up and my little astro video camera too. By the immediate sounds of the eclipse' timing, my neighbour's trres could be a problem as they obsure much of the eastern aspect from my driveway. Bit of planning to be done.
See what happens...
