One thing to be aware of if considering solar is that the retailers charge higher rates for solar customers than non-solar customers, so it's not worth getting a 1.5 KW system for most households. You need a system big enough to cover your biggest load, which might mean a 3 or 4 KW system to cover air conditioning.
