Thanks guys. Yeah Mike I really liked that tree and had been hoping to get a shot like this for a while now.
That's true Greg still some time for more imaging.
Matt, yeah its a great lens for astro work. Basically because of the max aperture of f/2.8. It does show vignetting wide open and the stars shapes start to look like comets around the edges of the frame. Stopped down to say f/4 and its almost all gone. As you can see in this image I shot it wide open at f/2.8 and it really doesn't detract from the overall image, well it doesn't bother me anyway. So yeah, all in all, a great piece of glass for very wide astrophotography on a full frame camera.
