That would be an alternative....
I was hoping to be able to do the plate solving "on the fly" as we look for the "correct" target star in the guider FOV.
Working with small guider FOV and looking for obscure stars (Be/ WR etc) then "nudging" the target onto the slit gap is what's it all about.
I think this would be a necessary step to achieve if we want to consider automated/ semi-automated remote spectroscopy.
ps Managed to find the ASCOM drivers for the Lodestar....
