Pieter,
I have a 35mm Panoptic, and regularly used it in my 16" Lightbridge which gives an exit pupil of 7.8mm, a FOV of about 1.3deg and 24mm of eye relief. Yes the exit pupil exceeds theoretical limits, but the views are stunning.
I still have the eyepiece but recently acquired a 31mm Nagler which I also use regularly. This eyepiece gives an exit pupil of 6.9mm, a FOV of about 1.4deg and 19mm eye relief. Once again the exit pupil exceeds theoretical limits, but the 35mm Panoptic or 31mm Nagler can't be beaten (IMHO) on wide targets like Orion or Eta Carina.
The key here is your personal preferences, what you like, and what you're after. A 13mm Ethos might tick the box on a 2.9mm exit pupil, but you're only going to get a 0.7deg FOV.
I don't think you would be disappointed with the 35mm Panoptic in your 16" Lightbridge if you like chasing wide FOV targets.
