I posted a thread a couple of weeks ago about the possibility of getting to do some observing during my upcoming trip to Sydney so am delighted to see this. I would love to come to the airfield on 20th - I can get the train from Sydney to Katoomba but I am hoping that someone would be kind enough to meet me in Katoomba for a lift out to the airfield as I don't know the area at all and won't have any transport. I'm prepared to stay overnight and try to get a lift back to town the next morning (if it's not too far I'd be happy to walk).
I really hope this is okay as I don't want to put anyone out. I won't have a telescope (my 10" dob won't fit in my suitcase!) but I do plan on bringing my binoculars. I am so looking forward to the opportunity of seeing some southern hemisphere objects so hope this works out. I understand I'd have to bring my own food etc but would I need a sleeping bag or is it warm enough to just sleep in your clothes?
Looking forward to my trip and also meeting some fellow enthusiasts,
Clear Skies,
Bernie
