Seeing as I implored people to get out and take pictures of C/2013 A1 passing the SMC, I figured I should also do so myself!
Comet C/2013 A1 (Siding Spring) is the little fuzzy blob with a faint fan tail on the left approaching globular cluster NGC362. It's next to some clusters and nebulae of the Small Magellanic Cloud, on the right side of the video. Each frame is a 2-minute exposure, taken consecutively. My 60D, 250mm lens and Skytracker combo doesn't really do it much justice, but it was fun to see the comet move between shots!
And I feel a deep need to modify and steal Russel's gag (sorry!), and call this comet a bit of a glob-trotter over the next two nights...
