Magnificent image. The filter certainly seems to ehance the contrast. It is interesting that you said the background is close to black. I didn't think so by looking at it. So I took some measurements. In fact the background is around levels 20 to 30, with a slight blue cast. Just how you want it to be. Not black at all (that would mean clipped
).
