Of course everyone is going to say 'what about xxx' and I'm no different!

My first though was that there is little (nothing?) about spectroscopy, and you don't need me to tell you how important that discovery was. I would expect to see names like Bunsen, Kirchhoff and Fraunhofer on the list. The second omission seems to be Plate tectonics, although I concede that in that case a definitive discoverer and discovery date are harder to isolate. Thanks again.
